    Default Curved Spine

Anyone else have one? I had a spinal with my first delivery (for a c-section) and they had a bit more trouble doing it b/c of my curve. Just wondered if it was at all common.

I have scoliosis but this is my first pregnancy so I'm not really sure what to expect. I will be seeing the anesthesiologist when I'm closer to my due date so he can look at my back to see what my options are. I don't know if they will be able to do an epidural or not. I'm hoping so. My scoliosis was pretty bad though. I had to have back surgery when I was in 7th grade to put rods down both sides of my spine so it wouldn't curve anymore. I can't even tell they are there now. I'll have to let you know what the dr says after I have my consult with him. Probably won't be for another 2 months or so though.

I have lordosis. A mild version of it. Now that I am pregnant my back is VERY curved out that even my doctor is surprised. It was not as noticable before although I used to get comments about having a "Pokey out" butt. I am having a bit of upper back pains but less than my massage therapist would expect with all that extra weight out front and with my large arch.

When I had my first prenatal (initial physical) the MW told me my spine was curved and she was surprised I didn't know about it I guess it's never really bothered me, but she didn't mention there could be any complications or anything :lost: This is my first PG so I really don't know what to expect, sorry I can't be of much help

I have scoliosis. My back is S shaped. The anesthesiologist had a LOT of trouble getting my epidural in with my last delivery. Poked me THREE times. I was crying/freaking out. But they got it in. I hope I have a better guy this time.

I have a 45 degree angle in my lower spine, i have one hip that sits higher than the ohter therefore I wear a lift in a shoe to hlp it.
I have been told that I need to have it corrected however I can not afford it and ins does not pay for hardly any of it. :madmad:

My Dr said that she does not think I will be able to have a epideral, but i'm going to get a evaluation before hand. :bonkers:

I was told I will have a hard time during the whole 9 months.

I have scoliosis and the curve in my lower spine is pretty bad, I was told I may not be able to have the epidural, but I had no problems with it. I made sure to tell the anestesiest (sp?) ahead of time and he made sure to find the right spot. It even worked so good I got a spinal block!!! I couldn't move my legs for about 6 hours after labor!!!
